๐Ÿ“– About Haritaki

Haritaki (Terminalia chebula), known as the "King of Medicines" in Tibetan tradition and one of the most revered Rasayana herbs in Ayurveda, is considered so sacred that it is depicted in the left hand of Medicine Buddha in Tibetan iconography. Its Sanskrit name Haritaki means "the one that carries away disease."

As one of the three fruits in the sacred Triphala formula, Haritaki is associated with Vata dosha pacification and is described as having all five tastes except Salty. It acts on all seven body tissues and all three doshas, making it one of the most comprehensive single herbs in Ayurveda.

The chebulic acid, gallic acid, ellagic acid, and chebulagic acid in Haritaki have demonstrated extraordinary antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-cancer properties in modern research.

โš ๏ธ
Avoid in pregnancy, extreme weakness, and emaciation. Not recommended during excessive hunger or thirst. Avoid in active diarrhea. May potentiate the effect of blood-thinning medications.
